The OBX Rental-Ready Tech Checklist

The tech that stops the 'the wifi doesn't work' reviews. Here's the exact setup we install per door — free checklist, and we're happy to handle it.

The full checklist

Here it is — no gate

We believe in giving value up front. Read or print it now.

Connectivity

  • Internet that reaches every room (Starlink where cable is weak)
  • Mesh Wi-Fi node added if signal drops at the far end
  • Separate, simple guest network name + password on the listing
  • Router on a smart plug for easy remote reboot

Starlink done right

  • Dish placed for a clear sky view, not for convenience
  • Hurricane-rated pole mount on exposed lots (Starlink's own Ridgeline mount is only rated to 50 mph)
  • Every penetration weather-sealed against salt air

TV & comfort

  • TVs mounted level, wires hidden, streaming apps signed in
  • Simple instructions by the remote — the one guests actually use
  • Permanent LED trim lighting for year-round curb appeal

Keep it running

  • Firmware updated on every device
  • Everything labeled and documented for your PM
  • A local person to call when something blips
